Wednesday, January 27th, from 7:30-12:00, the South Shore School District will be providing all staff the opportunity for a free coffee or hot chocolate with a mini muffin or danish out of the Brass Lantern. Thank you to the restaurant staff for supporting this cup of good cheer.
PSATs will be administered at school on Tuesday for sophomores and juniors in the Lecture Hall.
- Juniors will be taking the test from 7:45 to 11:00 am
- Sophomores will be taking the test from 11:15 to 2:20 pm
- This might results in a few students changing their lunch windows, but that will be done on a case-by-case basis.
- We will be giving you a list of students who have pre-registered and paid on Monday during the school day.
Wellness/Gym will return after the February Vacation Week. Students will be taken out of shop for a block roughly once a month or every other shop cycle. Please see the schedule. More to come.
Audio/Cameras in the classroom: We will be going around to all cohort classrooms on Monday to make sure each room has a webcam to enable remote students to log into in person classes. We will position the webcam on the cleartouch at the front of the room, but they will be movable (and have a small tripod) in case you'd rather have it looking at a whiteboard or some other area of the room. If you have any concerns or scenarios that may require a different setup, submit a Mojo helpdesk ticket and the IT department will work with you to make sure you have the resources you need. We also have lapel microphones available that will stream your voice directly to the computer (it won't amplify in the classroom, but will make sure the students at home can hear you clearly). If you'd like one let us know!
GoGuardian: Staff feedback on GoGuardian has been very positive. If you haven't made this program a staple in your classes I highly recommend doing so. It is an invaluable tool in helping to keep the students on task. The IT department will schedule 1:1 training with anyone who's interested in getting additional training on this program. Simply submit a ticket and we'll contact you to set up a time for your training.
Staff Member of the Week: We will be starting a Staff Member of the Week initiative where we will randomly select a staff member to be recognized each week. We will do a quick "interview" with the person selected, take a photo and post the person's profile on the internal Intranet (only available to SST staff). On the site you'll have the opportunity to write some kind words for that person. We will select the first Staff Member of the Week this Friday for the following week. The selection will be completely random -- we're using a software program that will make the selection. Feel free to go out of your way to say hello to the staff member, leave a little something on their desk, etc. The link will be available on the Staff Intranet next Monday, February 1. Big thank you to Joe E for putting the site together!
Group Peloton Spin Class: Please reach out to Katie if you'd like to join a group Peloton spin class!

Requisitions: Please remember when ordering large items that Bob Moorhead should be notified that way he can make sure space is available to store these items. If you're replacing large items with new ones, the old should be declared surplus prior to receiving the new items. This will help with any storage issues and speed up disposal.
Save the Date: Our Spring Program Advisory Meeting will take place virtually on the evening of Wednesday, March 31st. The invitation will be sent to advisors the week of Feb. 22. In the meantime, please review your shop’s advisory list, add/remove/update, and be sure to highlight your committee chair if it was changed at the last meeting.
Co-op: Juniors are now eligible for co-op! The minimum grade requirements are 75 in academics and 80 in shop. Please see the Juniors - Co-op Recommendations spreadsheet to indicate which juniors within your shop you would, or would not, recommend for co-op.
