Kudos!: Thank you to the entire staff that played a role in Saturday's Open House. To those who helped set up the technology to the staff that presented to our perspective students and parents let me just say it was an incredible morning beginning to end. we have received nothing but positive results from families.
Thank you again, Mark and the entire admissions team.
Safety, Safety, Safety: As the numbers of Covid-19 positive cases continue to rise through the northeast, schools are still some of the safest organizations. Please be cognizant to wipe down communal teacher desks and make sure you are wearing your masks in the building. Please do not be offended if someone reminds you to put yours on, they only want to keep us all safe and in school.
2Bs, or not 2Bs: Please remember the SMART goals need to be Specific, Measurable, Action-oriented, Rigorous and Trackable. Professional status teachers should have goals that follow a 2-year arch and non-professional status teachers should have their goals on a 1-year arch. You may, or will, have your SMART goals returned to you if the evaluator feels that a goal has not met all the elements of a SMART goal. Feedback will be given through Teach Point. Please feel free to use the template below to help formulate your goals.
Special Education Educational Assessment B forms are due two days prior to a Team meeting. A Google invitation for a meeting should prompt you to complete the students assessment form in Power School Special Populations.
A special education student is evaluated every three years at a reevaluation meeting. If the student may have a specific learning disability (SLD), two additional forms need to be completed by the assigned general education teacher: an SLD observation form and a SLD determination form. The SLD observation form is assigned to the teacher prior to the re-evaluation meeting, and the SLD determination form is assigned to a teacher via DocuSign for electronic signature after the Team meeting. Please be on the lookout for these forms and reach out to Katie or Nancy with any questions.
Communication to English Learners parent(s)/guardian(s) - Please remember that if you have an English Learner in your classroom, the communication home should be in the parents/guardians preferred language. We are fortunate to have many means to support you with this: on the spot interpretation for video and phone conferencing, as well as Google translate/docs for emails. Please reach out to Lin Ann Hutchinson or Student Services for support.
Thank you, Lin Ann Hutchinson for your professionalism and support in assisting Student Services complete SST's Coordinated Program Review in the areas of Office of Language Acquisition and English Learners Education. Much appreciated!
