Dad joke of the week: What does Algebra have to do with dating?
2021-22 SST PD - As you know, in 2021-22 SST PD will focus on grading and assessment practices.
CAD 5-Day Unit
A new initiative starting this year will be the exposure to "CAD" for all 10th grade students organized by shop during academic week 9th period. Each shop will be assigned a 5 day unit where the students will use their school issued chrome book to attend this mini unit course taught by Mr. Freitas in room 306. At the end of the unit Mr. Freitas will pass a final grade over to the grade 10 related teacher where it will count as a quiz grade in PowerSchool.
Evaluation Assignments - This week your evaluator for the 2021-22 school year will be connect with you to review your next steps. Every teacher starting an evaluation cycle can begin by completing your self-evaluation in TeachPoint. It’s a great tool for helping you determine your goals and should be completed before you begin goal development.
Cooperative Education:
Monday is the first day of co-op for approved seniors! Here is the current list of students approved for co-op. If they are not on the list, they should be in the shop this week. We will update this list as students are approved.
Please note that a completed DocuSign document does not mean the student is approved for co-op. We still need to complete a site visit, run a CORI check, and collect certificates of insurance before the student can report to co-op. We will send an approval email to the student with important information, including their start date. The student’s shop will be copied on those emails.
As you know, timecards will be done differently this year. The student and employer will fill out separate online timecards. This will eliminate the forgotten/lost timecards and the need to chase down signatures. There will be two folders in the Google Classroom where teachers can review these timecards. Links to those folders will be provided toward the end of the week. Please bear with us as we determine the most efficient way to get these organized for your review.
Picture/ID Day - Pictures/IDs will be taken on Monday, September 20th. 2 years ago we took the academic students out of ELA, so this year it will be out of Math classes. Here is the schedule. All staff need to get pictures taken for ID purposes.
