We are looking for underclassmen in danger of failing for the school year. Please fill out the attached spreadsheet with the appropriate information utilizing each tab per grade level. We realize that students, and you, still have approximately two weeks but we want to get an idea of numbers.(See below for plans post-June 12th). Please remember that you should use your professionalism to determine a holistic grade the student deserves based upon competency performance.
Unofficial Underclass Failure List 2020
Reminder: Special Education Progress Reports are due June 1!
Congratulations on finishing up with your seniors! Any senior who failed for the year will begin their extended school year with you on Monday. The students support team will be sure to reach out to the students and their parent/guardian at the start of next week to explain the extended year/summer school process for the senior class.
Now we are on to focus on the rest of the student body.
Grade Timeline
Grades for B-cycle (grade 10) are due on June 5th.
Grades for A-Cycle (grade 9 and 11) are due on June 10th.
All grades will be verified on June 11th.
Students who fail for the year.
Students who fail for the year will begin a para-supported extended school year on June 15th through June 26th.
Teachers will be provided (coming next week) a Google Form for every student who failed for the year. The form will ask each teacher to provide the assignments and resources the student needs to complete with the support of a para to pass for the year.
The forms will need to be completed by the end of the day on June 5th for grade 10 and June 11 from grade 9 and 11, this will allow us to partner students with a para, and allow the para to connect with the teacher before the end of the school year. If you can complete the form for 9's and 11's in advance, that would be terrific.
Students who are not successful in their para supported extended school year will be enrolled in a teacher taught remote summer school July 6- Aug 31.
Students who need support
Students who pass for the school year but are identified as needing additional support over the summer will also be considered for teacher-led remote summer learning from July 6 - August 31.
Additionally, those students whose IEP's articulate the need for an extended summer school will be enrolled in a remote summer program.
In a Google form provided in the Monday Message, we are asking you to advance report your anticipated failures for grades 9-11 so that we can take further action with families and prepare for the extended school year and summer school.
To accomplish all of this extended learning we need your help! You can now see three different postings on School Spring, and here is an outline of each for your information.
