4.22.19

From the desk of the Principal, Mark

The date is finally here. The NEASC visiting committee will be here from tomorrow at about 10:00 am thru Thursday of this week.

  • They will be operating out of room 317, the old green room.
  • They could be scheduling meetings with staff and students, or they could be around to check-in with staff throughout the normal flow of the workday.
  • The team members are:
  • There will be no meeting on Thursday afternoon to review the committee's findings.

Remember that this Friday is an In-Service Day to visit the SkillsUSA Competition at Blackstone Valley Tech and Marlboro.

  • The coach bus will leave South Shore at 7:40 for a 9:00 am arrival at BVT.
  • Staff who are driving themselves should plan on being at BVT by 9:00 am.
  • Between 10:30 & 11:00 am, we will be making our way to the Best Western Marlboro to view other South Shore students in contests.
  • Lunch will be on your own in Marlboro. They are a number of options within walking distance.
  • The bus will be leaving at 1:00 PM to be home to South Shore at 2:30 PM.

A face for the name: This is Sam Pendergast, the long-term substitute for Allie Provost. Welcome him to the family! (No news on Allie as of now.)

Math MCAS testing is May 21st and 22nd.

  • I will sharing a schedule and room location chart next week.
  • I will be scheduling training sessions in the coming weeks for all academic staff and paraprofessionals.
  • We will be following the same delay for seniors,
  • As well as the same lunch schedule we did for the ELA test in March.

Once again, a begin thank you to our chaperones on the community service trip!  They continue to represent South Shore excellently close to home or half a country!

From the desk of the Director of Special Education, Katie

I hope you enjoyed April vacation!

Please continue to view your Google calendar to remember important special education deadlines (attendance at special education meetings and completion of educational assessment forms on time).

Enjoy the week!
