Kudos:
A big shout-out to Paul Bello. He’s worn many hats at this school, but he’s influenced all of us and has a solid relationship with the administration, vocational, and academic as he bonds everyone together from SST cookouts, Skills, and Entrepreneur programs. He has a tremendous relationship with students that helps and guides all of them into a great future. Thank you to Paul for all that you do for SST!
A shout-out to Rachel Schuster who has jumped in with both feet since joining South Shore. Whether it is doing whatever is needed in the Culinary Shop, working the CTI program at night, or getting involved with the school after hours with our Night of the Arts event coming in May Rachel is always got a smile on her face and a warm greeting to share. Thank you, Rachel.
Note: Kudos are staff generated. Want to celebrate a colleague? Submitting a write-up to kudos@ssvotech.org
ELA MCAS:
10th graders will be taking the English Language Arts MCAS test on the mornings of Tuesday, March 28th, and Wednesday, March 29th. This will bring about the usual impacts including:
A bell schedule change and the cancellation of PLCs, Wellness & Guidance classes, and 9th periods on these dates.
It will also result in the 12th graders having a delayed start on these dates.
We will also be setting up mandatory training sessions for all possible proctors. Those will start on Monday, March 13th. Please be on the lookout for the schedule.
Student Focus Groups: John Scop. will be running student focus groups throughout March to get student feedback on the grading plan for 2023-2024. If you know some students who should be a part of these conversations, please email John with your suggestions. Thank you!
Site Visit: On Monday, 3/6, Reed Dyer from ReDesign will be on campus working with John Scop. and some other teachers. If time allows, John and Reed may swing by for a brief walkthrough of your shop or classroom. John will check in with you if they plan on visiting you. Thanks in advance!
