Thank you for all your doing. We have a lot of information in this week's message as well as continuing to collect information to help us help you and your students.
Teacher and Staff Person of the Month: Please use the attach forms to nominate a fellow teacher and staff person of the month. The Faculty Council will be meeting the end of the week to announce April's deserving recipients.

Google Hangout Times: We are collecting everyone's google hangout times with their classes. Remember you need one google hangout per week per class. This will be another tool the leadership and support teams can use to help parents get their students engaged in the remote learning school.

From the Vocational Office:
We have identified students who were continuing their co-op job through the closure. Now that school is closed through the remainder of the year, we expect more students will want to start working again.
Students who are planning to return to their co-op job must submit a Co-op Permission Form, signed by their parent prior to returning to work. ALL working students must submit a timecard to their vocational teacher in order to be excused from shop work for that week. The vocational office will send out regular reminders, but please follow up with students who are behind on their timecards.
If you know of a student who is working that is not on the timecard tracking sheet, please let us know ASAP.
From Student Services:
I have been in contact with many parents via email or phone who need a bit of support and encouragement as they learn how to navigate through remote learning with their child. Parents are THRILLED with your outreach, support, and kindness. Please continue to keep parents in the loop! THANK YOU!
Please be on the look out for Special Education Progress Reports. Progress reports will be completed for grades 9-12 with a June 1, 2020 deadline. There will be a disclaimer added to each progress report noting that the described progress is up to March 13, 2020 due to school closure from the COVID-19 public health crisis. Your reports may look exactly like the ones you just wrote in February. This is okay!
Special Education Team meetings will begin to be conducted virtually. My first area of focus was to reach out to our senior students who did not have a Team meeting prior to school closure, and as a result, there are a few parents that have requested to move forward with virtual Team meetings. If you receive an invitation for a Team meeting, please complete the Educational Assessment B form in Power School - Special Education and check to see if you are designated to attend. In May, we will continue our outreach to grades 9 -11 parents. We will only run Annual virtual meetings.
Amy and I have Google Meets scheduled with our sending districts to talk about incoming freshman. Our conversations with counselors, special education liaisons, and parents are about safety, scheduling (EL's, Title 1 math/reading, Honors, Para supported vs. co-taught,etc..) and transitional concerns. Our goal is to gather as much information we can about our new students.
As you know, Freshman Orientation will look different this year. We are confident that we will build a creative platform to keep our accepted students interested and informed! If you are interested in supporting a virtual Freshman Orientation with us, please email Amy or I.
