Facilities:
Please utilize the building usage form available in the intranet whenever you are using the building for an event. This will also allow you to identify if your need support from the technology or maintenance departments.
Over the vacation, we will be working on replacing the floors from the Collette's office through to 115B. We ask, in order to expediate this work, that you please place as many things as possible on the window shelves and in other permament storage. The less the maintenance staff has to move, the more they will be able to get done. Thank you!
We ask that you remind each of your classes to use the correct restrooms. We have a number of students walking an extra distance to avoid your words of wisdom.
Curriculum:
As you know by now, Chris Herron will be here on Wednesday to make a whole school presentation at 9 AM. We ask that you wear your South Shore gear and please sit with your students to help identify any students in distress.
Viking Shout Out!
A huge Viking roar to Greg Stevens. Greg volunteered to host a Dungeon & Dragons Club on Tuesday afternoons. The first week, expecting perhaps 15 students, they had a whopping 30 students attend. Greg has developed a serial approach to the game to allow the students to work on their adventures from week to week. Thank you to Greg for volunteering for this untapped student population and going the extra mile to accommodate the game into one hour portions!
An equally large kudos to Lisa B, Paul Bello, Bob Mello, Tom Hart, Santa herself and all the departments and students who made Saturday's SkillsUSA Xmas Party possible. The smiles on the children's faces were brighter than any christmas tree. Well done one and all! See below for further thank yous.
This week's FUN FRIDAY will be FESTIVE HOLIDAY SWEATERS!
From the Vocational Office:
- A huge Thank You goes out to all the students and staff that helped make the SkillsUSA party a success. This event could not have happened without the help of people like you. Whether it was buying a gift, wrapping a gift, or our maintenance department helping with tables and opening the building at 6am!
- Please take time this week to make sure shops and areas outside your shops are clean organized and locked up/secured as we head into break.
- Please remember to not overload the construction, scrap steel, or recycling dumpsters. The max loading height is the top of the dumpster.
- OSHA cards will be purchased via our office now and moving forward. We will be ordering cards this week so you can use them as the freshman join your shops after break.
- Also, please take time to review your shop expectation sheets and make any adjustments necessary for the freshman who will be joining your shops!
