9th Period Student Movement:
- Please remember to use the google form when requesting students from the usual 9th period location.
- When meetings are being scheduled during 9th period, students will report to their scheduled 9th period for attendance before they go to their meeting location.
It is my hope that by utilizing these two methods, we will have a better handle on student movement at the end of the day.
Please remember to wear red on Friday for our blood drive. If you are interesting in donating during the day please let me know so I can get you into the schedule.

February Vacation:
Last week was a busy week. Thank you to all for your diligent efforts. This week will be even more challenging as our anxiety and the students anxiety builds as we head towards vacation.
Please keep this in mind, we are here if you need us. Remember if a student is tardy to your class, all you need to do is send us an email to discipline and we can take it from there.
Another helpful hint, if a student does something in your class that warrants a detention hour from you. Assign it at the end of the class, this allows you to begin your class as you have planned and should save you anguish during your instruction time from the disgruntled student. #moretimeonlearning.
SkillsUSA Sail Conference:
Last week Ben Doucette, Brady Waters Chris Osborne, Cole Ellis Josie Heade and Elizabeth Hennessey attended the second annual Student Adventures in Leadership COnference. They completed the requirements needed to “graduate” from the program, and received a sash and diploma.
These students are well on their way to being future leaders.
SkillsUSA District Update:
Got your vouchers ? Have your students taken all of the pre-tests. It would be great to complete them early this week. Hours on Monday and Wednesday after school are available to help prepare our students.
Did someone say Pep Rally? Thursday February 28th, 9th Period we are sending these 135 students off with recognition by their SST “Ohana”, or family in Hawaiian. Yes it will be a Hawaiian theme. Spring is only 3 weeks away from this point.
If you still need pre-tests please reach out to Lisa B.
Trash/Dumpsters/Recycling:
Let’s make sure we get the trash in the dumpsters, the recycling in the right containers and keep minimizing our Carbon Footprint. Remind your students, and maybe take a walk out with them and make sure they know the right way to “dispose of properly”.

Parent Teacher Conferences
Please be prepared to share the accommodations provided in your classrooms and speak with parents about the strengths and concerns you have in a kind and professional manner. If you need advice prior, please reach out to a counselor or myself to discuss communication tips and/ or to join you!
A Gentle Reminder Regarding Student Services Protocols
If you have a student who would like to see their counselor, please encourage them to send an email to their counselor and set up an appointment. If there is a student who needs immediate attention, please call Deirdre at ext. 430 or myself at ext. 439 and we will triage for you. Please do not send a student to guidance without calling to see if a counselor is present. In addition, Andrea Hule, our adjustment counselor, works closely with Amy, Joe, and Todd, please reach out to a counselor first if you have a student concern, and then they will make the referral to Andrea as needed. Remember to use the Student Support Team email too! We meet weekly to discuss student concerns. studentsupport@ssvotech.org
Special Education Progress Reports
Be on the look out this week for instructions. Progress reports will be due after vacation on Thursday, February 28th.
Google Voice Recognition
If you have a student who has the speech to text accommodation, you should have a pair of headphones to support this accommodation. While using a Google document, please remember to instruct the student to plug in the headset, click on 'Tools', then 'Voice Typing' to enable the microphone. Click on the microphone to start talking (orange/red means go!) - Try it out!
Enjoy the week! And, more importantly, enjoy your winter break!
